'A great story, however massive it might be, can balance on the tip of a needle. It’s unbiased and so is its creator.'
Happie Mongia aka Story Baba, a Film Director/Writer/Producer based out of Mumbai, India. was born and raised in New Delhi. He meditates, ideates, and creates. But it wasn't always so. Till 2009, he worked out as a project manager for a German travel company, when he decided that a desk job wasn't juicy enough for him. A storyteller by nature, he joined a renowned theatre group in Mumbai. While performing shows around the city of dreams, he chanced upon a Korean film - Christmas in August. This simple, yet visually brilliant film, ignited within him a new love for cinema. Inspired, but unaware of a starting point, he began writing in 2012. He wrote a few stories which lead to the rise of, ‘Story Baba’ - a Twitter handle telling micro-stories to its 20K+ followers, which soon became his pen name for his filmmaking adventures.
In 2016, he started directing digital AD films. It wasn't long before a brand film ‘Maa Nahin Bhulti’ for Dominos Pizza went viral on social media. The floodgates of opportunities threw themselves open and led him to several mind-blowing projects where he directed (sometimes scripted too) digital films for some of the biggest brands in the country along with a few web shows for platforms like Amazon Mini and The Viral Fever. The journey continues and he feels ever so hungry to film more stories.
